The probing error P describes the local error characteristic of the CMM and is measured by probing a calibrated ball at defined points. The probing error is given as the probing error for form PF and as the probing error for size PS. The length measurement error E describes the global error characteristic of the CMM which is mainly influenced by the translation axes of the instrument.
