In this introductory chapter I will share some of the philosophical and biblical roots of our heritage regarding justice, since the notion of justice is the main moral principle grounding this study. The four chapters that make up the middle section of the book describe how women's access to the economy is compromised by our experiences of sexuality. The concluding chapters will again take up the question of what justice requires of us now, in light of this exploration of women's experience, particularly as we might see it affecting our notions of sexual ethics and economic ethics.
