Each slate contained one part of speech: subject, verb, object of the verb, preposition and object of the preposition. This is particularly helpful in the testing of young children. Special Audiometric Tests These determine whether a sensorineural loss is located in nerve endings in the inner ear or hearing nerve. They include tone decay tests, the short increment sensitivity index (SISI), loudness balance tests and Békésy audiometry. These have largely been replaced by electrophysiologic tests. Electrophysical Tests Other tests that do not require the client to give a conscious response include electrophysical tests: electroencephalic (EEG) audiometry and evoked response audiometry.
