For example, attributes can define the size of an image or the color of a font. HTML is not case sensitive. Element and attribute names can be uppercase, lowercase, or proper case.
By starting with the most common set of 256 and eliminating the 40 variable colors, you are left with a palette of 216 colors optimized for cross-browser and cross-platform use. This palette is called the browser-safe palette. If you use colors that are not in this set of216 colors, those colors may dither, appear blocky, and make the text on the page more difficult to read on systems that support only 256 colors. To see what your pages look like in other color resolutions, set your system color scheme to 256 colors.
