What status do the opinions, perceptions, observations and judgements contained in them have? While a hypothesis may be helpful in clarifying the worker's thoughts, when put in writing it may lose its tentative, hypothetical quality and stand as a recorded judgement of a client's personality and behaviour. Can such a record be subpoenaed? Similar concerns may apply to recording in group-care settings.
